17 illegals captured in search for deputy shooters
First, I want to say, the variety in the cultural background of Americans adds to the strength of our country. Secondly, to, what I believe, is the majority of Americans, this is not a racial issue. It appears to be a racial issue because the flow of immigrants always comes from less to more. While the US appears to be struggling, it's still the place to be... the place of opportunity ... for those south of us.   While there are urgent issues of drug trafficking and human trafficking that lead to violence, there are hard working immigrants willing to risk their lives to enter our country so that they might have the opportunity to seek their dreams.
ANY country benefits from hard working, family oriented, peace seeking people.
We must have a plan and we must have enforcement. It's a large order. We are capable, but we must be willing to do the work. There is the way we wish the world was and there is the way the world is. Mexico and Central America are not the only areas immigrants are coming from, but they are the focus of current discussion because of their number, their proximity to our border and the nature of our southern border.
The US is not criminalizing those who have entered illegally. Those who have entered illegally have broken a long standing law. They made the choice to do so. When you break a law you become a criminal. If a starving man steals a loaf of bread, he's still a thief. We understand his motivation, but no matter how good the reason, he's still a thief. Periodic amnesty is not the answer. A plan is the answer. Give those who wish to join us in our dream the opportunity to legally do so. They also need protection from the criminal element involved in drug and human trafficking.
We need to demand action from Congress. LOUDLY. CEASELESSLY.
